Volante Rosso has had a stela start to the 2018 Porsche Wilsons Carrera Cup Championship. Team driver Josh Hunt has been producing very consistent results seeing them positioned 9th overall of 25 cars in the most competitive season since the series conception 15 years ago. “As a new team coming into Carrera Cup was always going to be difficult, our team principle Chris has lead with a tight structure and the boys have gelled together so well, the progression has been amazing, and it has been noticed by the top teams we are now competing with.” – Josh Hunt.

The last two rounds have seen the VR #15 car dressed in Melbourne based charity Maddie Reiwoltds Vision colours, the team hopes the relationship will help raise awareness around research and a cure for bone marrow failure. “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with the MRV team, having the association with the charity gives everyone involved that little extra drive and we really look forward to bringing more awareness to the cause and growing that relationship with MVR”.
There have been three rounds so far this year including the Adelaide & Melbourne GP street circuits and the infamous Philip Island round of the Virgin Australia Supercar series. The championship will now travel to Darwin, Tailem Bend, Sydney, Bathurst before seeing out the season finale at the Gold Coast 600 in October. Negotiations are in play with various naming-right sponsors for the remainder of the 2018 season and next years season where the team are predicting a top-five placing, making the signage space hot property for 2019.

Porsche Wilson Security Carrera Cup Australia enjoys one of the best television broadcast packages in Australian motorsport. In 2018, every race of the championship will be broadcast live on Fox Sports or Network Ten, and in some cases both. Between practice sessions, qualifying and the racing, over 30 hours of Carrera Cup will be contested across Fox Sports and Network Ten.
